Sweet! I finally finished this game after all these years! I thought pathe was the toughest.
how do i do the one that says "plane" and "heat"?
Okay. I am stuck on level 5, a plane. I feel like I'm probably missing something, and feel like I'm missing the concept in general. Is it always one of a few words you are trying to spell? Or is it different words for every level? Edited to add: LOL! Never mind. Second time I've solved a puzzle almost immediately after posting.
Level 6? How do you do 6?!!!
Did you work it out yet? Leave the bottom two hats alone. Make the word HAT! with the top letters then put on the hat that appears and go meet the ape.
this is really cute! nice puzzles, nice theming. I particularly liked “delete” and string substitution - real stumpers
Hmm, I didn't expect "delete" to be difficult, though I think "string substitution" is by far the hardest one in the game... so far ;)

What a total delight! Anagrams plus Elephants plus Hats plus Apes.. Though I was a tiny bit devastated that my elephant was at no point given the opportunity to wear pants.
Yeah, I mean, is only a hat properly dressed to meet your ape friend? I wanted to make teeth to bite through the tape.
Ah, but which way would an elephant wear pants? Jokes aside, "pant" wouldn't really make sense and I wanna avoid adding more letters. I was planning to add "heat" which could burn tape away and "path" which could pave over tape, but did neither for the jam version. I might add "heat" but make elephant and friends invulnerable to it.
Yes I thought heat might make a nice fire with which to burn away hats and tape. Maybe it's on a torch that can be carried so it doesn't hurt. Although, indestructible tape does provide a challenge that, rather than getting rid of it, you have to work around it. The one with all the pathe's was great. Maybe a peel could make them slip? (Elephants would not be able to zip up pants if the zip was on the top.)

Totally stuck on 18!! Is there some new mechanic that is needed to solve this?
No, all you need to know for level 18 is that you can spell 'elephant'.

If I had to guess, it's probably actually power of forgetting whatever false assumptions you made by taking a break. Very powerful puzzling tool
